Who we are

Make Kent County Indivisible.

In America, We don't do kings.

Kent County Indivisible is 100% volunteer run and would love to have you work along side us in our mission to defend democracy. If you're interested in helping to shape the work that KCI is doing, please let us know!

Our Values

Our Values

Action Oriented

We are interested in working toward change, not the status quo

Nonviolence

Since Indivisible's founding in 2016, we've been committed to non-violence as a guiding principle in everything we do: our protests, our organizing, and our advocacy. We reject all forms of political violence and intimidation, no matter the source or the target. That's not just a moral stance, it's a strategic one. Movements that create lasting change do so by building trust, forging solidarity, and demonstrating discipline, even in the face of threats or attacks.

Big Tent

We accept and welcome as members all residents who want to support democracy. We recognize that we may not agree on every issue, but we all wish to protect our American democracy.

Transparency

We strive to be transparent to our membership. All meetings are listed on the membership calendar, while public meetings and protests are listed above on the website. To become a member, please sign up above.

Know your rights when you protest

By attending the protests, you acknowledge that participation in any public demonstration involves inherent risks, including but not limited to the risk of injury, property damage, arrest, and exposure to the conduct of other participants, counter-protesters, and law enforcement. Your participation is voluntary, and you knowingly assume all risks associated with attending such events.

How To Get Involved

A great first step to getting involved with KCI is to make sure you're subscribed to our mailing list, which you can do by filling out the form below. We also hold regular Community Meetings about once a month, which are a great opportunity to connect with others in the community and hear about the work KCI is doing.

If you're interested in finding out how you can be more involved and help shape the work that KCI is doing, fill out the form below and check the box indicating you'd like to hear more about volunteering.

We want to build a community where people can use their talents, time and energy to help us plan and organize the work we're doing, as well as help with a wide variety of day-to-day things that help keep KCI moving and growing. After you sign up, you'll have someone from KCI reach out to you via email to follow up and start a conversation on how you can get more involved.

Some examples of what our volunteers tackle:

  • Researching and writing articles for our website
  • Managing our social media presence
  • Help managing our online platform
  • Coming up with ideas how we can accomplish our Campaigns, and then working with others to turn those ideas into action
  • Writing, reviewing, editing and providing feedback on emails, posts and articles
  • Recruiting volunteers, and then helping to get them onboard when they sign up
  • Organizing events: securing locations, organizing volunteer signups, coordination, etc
  • Anything else you want to do that could be helpful!

We want to work to make volunteering with Kent County Indivisible transparent and inclusive. Volunteers will have opportunities to get involved with anything that we're working on.
